Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL) has launched a new project called Community, Livestock and Agriculture Project (CLAP). The project is funded by International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD). The overall goal of the project is to contribute to reducing poverty in rural Afghanistan. More specifically, the project objective is to improve food security of 169,500 rural households in selected districts in the provinces of Kabul, Parwan, and Logar provinces by increasing agriculture and livestock productivity.

This will be achieved by enhancing productive assets, skills, services, technologies, and income opportunities of the targeted beneficiaries (i.e. by introducing appropriate livestock and agriculture technology options, strengthening local capacity, and strengthening some weak areas of value-chain, including linkages with markets). The project also aims at reducing gender disparities by increasing the social and economic status of women engaged in these activities Community Livestock and Agriculture Project (CLAP) has recently initiated its irrigation component to introduce best On Farm Water Management Practices. The overall development objective (PDO) of Irrigation component is to assist farmers to adopt improved farm practices that increase agriculture productivity through irrigation infrastructure improvement in three provinces of Afghanistan.

For the implementation of the project in Kabul, Parwan, Logar provinces, CLAP has assigned Dynamic Vision in order to carry out;

  1. Detail Engineering Field Surveys and plotting of Drawings, Maps, Cross sections and Profiles.
  2. Irrigation Schemes design and plotting of Drawings, Maps and Profiles using the;
  3. Software and procedure compatible with ones adopted by CLAP for Irrigation Schemes.
  4. Design (Maps, Long Sections, cross sections, Estimation, BOQ, etc) software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Google Earth, etc. are to be used.

Brief Description of Services:
Dynamic Vision shall carry out Engineering Field Surveys and Irrigation schemes design of command areas of 25 irrigation schemes (sites) select in Kabul, Parwan and Logar Provinces. It is estimated that anticipated irrigation schemes would cover almost 12,500 hectares of command area and 98 km length of main and branch irrigation channels. The command area and the length of irrigation channels may change as per the requirements of the different sites. The project commencement date is 09 April, 2016 and the completion date is 08 September, 2016. The project team will consist of 35 technical and nontechnical staff.
