DV completed feeders based survey of Kandahar city distribution network
Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) faces major operational challenges that affect its ability to meet sustainable power demand across Afghanistan. These challenges are particularly prevalent in the south of Afghanistan, which is not connected to the relatively well-supplied transmission network in the north. Kandahar Operating Center (KOC) of DABS supplies electricity through 9 MV feeders of 20 KV, namely 511, 512, 513, 514, 516, 517, 518, 519 & 520.
Dynamic Vision team in Kandahar carried out a detailed survey and diagnostic study of all MV feeders of Kandahar Operations Center (KOC) network to assess their status and identify remedial measures to improve the performance. Following approaches were followed to inspect and evaluate the status of the MV feeders of KOC.
- Physical Survey and inspection of all MV feeders including accessories of KOC network.
- Meeting with technical maintenance team and sub-station operators of KOC to understand the issues faced during operation and maintains of the network.
- ata collection in a predesigned inspection Sheet of all MV feeders to analyse the performance of the feeders and asset verification.
