DV is assigned to carry out the Monitoring and Evaluation Focus Group Discussions (FGD) /RFP-WIG-00447 in Mazar-e-Sharif, Herat and Kabul Provinces of Afghanistan for Chemonics Afghanistan Limited Management and Implementation Services, under the USAID Promote: Women in Government, USAID Contract No. AID-306-TO-15-00044/AID-306-I-14-00012

The purpose of the USAID Promote: Women in Government FGD is to identify the impact of weekly interactive radio series on public awareness and influence of social norms, to change attitudes towards and increase support for women in government positions, particularly those where they have decision making responsibilities. The project will start in August, 2016 and completed by June, 2016.

The USAID Promote: Women in Government will conduct two FGD in each of three provinces: Kabul, Herat and Balkh and in total six (6) FGD. The FGD questions will be determined per the topics of the radio series more likely covering the anti-harassment regulation, law on violence against women, obstacles preventing women from working outside, particularly in government and topics relevant to the project goal and objectives to be included. In each FGD, approximately 8 to 10 people (50% representation of men and women) will be gathered in groups from program participants, such as office management teams, political leaders, community leaders, religious leaders, members of provincial council, representatives of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Department of Women Affairs (DoWA), universities, colleagues and family members of potential interns to discuss the aforementioned topics. Each session will last approximately 2 hours and the method of discussions will be semi-structured questions about these mentioned topics. Two FGD will be held in Kabul, Herat and Balkh Provinces and total target groups will be 60 people.
