Third party evaluation of Strengthening of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Services in selected areas of SAARC countries Interventions spread out across two provinces-Bamyan and Parwan of Afghanistan
As of May 2018, the project interventions are spread out across in two provinces- Bamyan and Parwan, This comprises of a population size of 3,499 households covering around 24,493 persons. The evaluation will explore how the WASH Programme has contributed towards improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene to the targeted communities in two provinces of Afghanistan. The two provinces of study included Bamyan and Parwan. Data, collected from 23 July 2018 to 6 August 2018. The KPMG and Dynamic Vision (DV) collaborated on a third party evaluation in communities that received SDF interventions in response to WASH project. The evaluation of these interventions used indicators to measure effectiveness and performance of the interventions. This evaluation was conducted in 2018. The goal of this evaluation was to determine the sustainability of the water and sanitation interventions implemented by Ru-WatSIP/MRRD in two provinces (Bamyan and Parwan) of Afghanistan. This third party evaluation was conducted in 19 communities that received SDF interventions. The household interview included a questionnaire that obtained data that focused on the three interventions – water, sanitation and hygiene education.
