Selection of DV as Implementing Partner for CUSDM/SHAHAR/USAID Project
Dynamic Vision (DV) has qualified as one of the implementing partners for the Competitive Urban Service Delivery Mechanism Fund (CUSDM) of Strong Hubs for Afghan Hope and Resilience (SHAHAR) (USAID funded ( $73.5 million) (November, 2014 to November, 2017) projects in four regions and 16 provinces of Afghanistan (Eastern, Norther, Southern, Western which include; Kunar, Logar, Paktya, Laghman, Wardak, Parwan, Ghazni Badghis, Ghor, Baghlan, Jawzjan, Samangan, Faryab, Helmand Uruzgan and Zabul)
Strong Hubs for Afghan Hope and Resilience project (SHAHAR) is supporting the Afghan government led initiative to create well-governed and fiscally-sustainable municipalities meeting the needs of the rapidly growing urban population. The project partners with 20 municipalities, four of which serve as regional economic hubs. The regions are selected jointly with the Independent Directorate of Local Governance and the General Directorate of Municipal Affairs (GDMA).
SHAHAR consists of three main components:
- assisting the GDMA to strengthen municipal governance and build their human and institutional capacity;
- helping municipal institutions to become more resilient, transparent, self-sustaining, and to effectively meet the needs of citizens;
- supporting Municipal Advisory Boards to function as forums for citizens to collectively advocate for their priorities.
