United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has engaged DV for the Provision of Design & Build Project Implementation Services Including Capacity Building and Impact Evaluation for the Proposed Drinking Water Supply System Improvement Project in Barchi Area of Kabul City, Afghanistan.

The Project aims at supplying drinking water to the present 2,200 households with a minimum head of 15 meters at the ground level of each household and a supply level of 60 litres per capita, per day. The water supply is to be available 24 hours per day all year round. Each household connection will be metered and the household charged for the service by the AUWSSC based on the agreed water tariff mechanism. The project need to consider population growth during the next 15 years set as a Design Horizon as well as the forecast in the trend for increasing the per capita water demand, that should be followed by detailed design and full implementation of the required water supply system. To meet the requirements beyond the design horizon period, DV is to propose a phasing expansion and upgrade in the system to meet future needs.
